Biography
My background as a photographer and filmmaker has allowed me over twenty years to create and engage with a variety of diverse people. Whether it’s working with two dancers on top of the WTC during sunrise on 9/11, a celebrity musician dealing with personality disorder who connects with millions of fans, or a group of prisoners making their own films while inside San Quentin Prison.
Each project has allowed me new experiences, to create stories with people of various walks of life. Through the lens of trauma and healing, the camera and microphone are the tools I use to meet, look, and collaborate with people. I consider empathy and documentary essay storytelling among my most valuable professional skills.
Since the success of my documentary directorial debut, Lady Gaga Inside the Outside. Today, I work in a variety of formats with the ever-changing landscape and needs of storytelling in our digital social environment.
Over the Covid lockdown I made it a point to create work specific to the people and neighborhood where I live and which was a focus for much needed documentation. “Chinatown Alive” and “Thoughts On A Light Box” are photography and film projects about the theme of freedom.
I most recently completed a photography portrait series “Spring Fling.” which is a series of double-exposure street portraits with my fellow NY’ers taking a new breath with a mask-up and mask-off in a post vaccinated Spring.

Directed campaigns for Apple, Levis, J.Crew, Vogue, Beats, Adidas, Nike, and the Tribeca Film Festival.
Directed feature length documentaries for Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato.

Born in New York City in 1978 and graduated from the School of Visual Arts (2000) in Cinema Studies.
